Why is this changing?
Organising or taking part in a group gift collection is a beautiful act of kindness and we don’t think you should have to pay to celebrate together or show you care.
GiftRound was created in 2018, to make our users smile, feel a sense of connection with others and save time with easy group gift collections in this busy world we all live in.
Over the past eight years of GiftRounds, we’ve learnt that we also now want to stand out and make online group collections 100% free and fair. To achieve this ambition we need to say ‘no’ to options that overcomplicate things and add unnecessary fees.
When we first started offering bank transfers, it was to offer a way of flexibly spending a group collection for the small amount of people who didn't want to use the GiftRound store.
Offering bank transfers is increasingly problematic. Partly because of increasing admin costs of offering this service. But also the regulatory complexity. We never envisioned doing a digital group collection needing the same level of red tape as setting up a bank account.
At GiftRound we don't think that you, your contributors or recipient should have to pay to do a group collection. We've seen other providers introducing new, higher fees and intrusive ID checks, so we've decided to find a way to remove all visible and hidden fees and make group collection as easy as possible.
No fees, just smiles 😃
